With its immense artistic and cultural heritage, Verona and its province is not just a stopping-place but well worth a visit.
First of all, visit Verona's historical centre with its unforgettable views (awarded World Heritage Site Status by U.N.E.S.C.O.) and the clear waters and adjacent olive groves of Lake Garda just a few kilometres away.
Then take a trip right up to Monte Baldo, known as the "Garden of Europe" at a height of 2200m, or to the lush vine-yards of the Valpolicella and its villas.
Last but not least, go up to the Regional Nature Park of Lessinia with its woods, "malghe" (traditional cow-sheds), snowy peaks, interesting geological features and prehistoric archaeological sites and, covering a few more kilometers, reach the Eastern Section of the Province with its towns encircles by austere fortifications, medieval castles and splendid villas.
